This past year was crazy and unpredictable. I never thought I’d be stuck at home watching tv all day. I never thought I’ll have a baby by 29 but that’s another story to tell. Who said that dreams don’t come true?
I had plenty of time in front of the tv and I’m pretty sure I’ve finished watching Netflix. Yes, all of it. No, I’m not crazy.
Anyway, I wanted to share a list of tv series I’ve finished that I actually loved. I’m going to leave the list with “series I hated but I’ve watched because I was bored” on a side for another time.
- 𝑺𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒕’𝒔 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒌 – Netflix [6 seasons]
This easily became my new favorite tv show. I even started it again from the beginning because it’s hilarious.
It’s about this rich family that looses their fortune and they end up living in a small town called Schitt’s creek. The series follow the family through their difficult period as they learn how to live without the expensive life they had. I don’t want to spoil it more for you but let’s just say every episode is filled up with pure comedy.
It’s a Canadian made show created by Eugene Levy (the father from American pie) and son Dan Levy.
Irony, love, fear, LGBT, laughter, friendship, values – these are some of the ingredients helped making this masterpiece.
- 𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 – Netflix [2 seasons so far]
I had my doubts about this one. I’m very emotional person so I’m trying to avoid things that make me cry. But let me tell you it was all worth it. 10 minutes in and it became one of my favorites.
This bittersweet comedy is created and directed by the great Ricky Gervais who’s also playing the main character.
Filled with amazing cast of British comedians and actors, this show is all about the everyday Mr. Nice guy and what happens when he looses the love of his life. “No more Mr. Nice guy” – Alice Cooper once sang in his famous track and it’s a good description for the series.
Brutally honest and rough, this show will make you laugh and cry, and laugh again, and leave you wanting more. Hopefully season 3 is coming this year.
- 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒐𝒏 – Netflix [1 season so far]
This was another show I wasn’t sure about. After seeing the trailer I thought it looked ok but not my type of series. And then I had a friend telling me it was worth the watch so I had a go. Now I can’t wait for another season.
Basically it’s like Gossip Girl but set in England during the Regency Era with way more drama happening around. There’s some of kind of sweetness at the same time coming from the culture with all the jewelry and fashion of that era.
I’d definitely recommend these series to anyone who likes a bit of gossip, a bit of drama and a bit of sweetness.
- 𝘽𝙤𝙙𝙮𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙙 – Netflix [1 season so far]
For the thriller fans out there I’d recommend this mini series starring Rob Stark (Richard Madden). Just 6 episodes to watch but each one leaves you breathless.
The main character, a war veteran, falls deep into a complicated political – terrorist relationship trying to do his job as a Home Secretary bodyguard.
I couldn’t find any news about a new season coming soon but if anyone knows anything, please share it in the comment section.
- 𝙂𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 – Netflix [7 season + 4 extra reunion episodes]
Of course, I can’t go without mentioning one of my all time favorites. I recently started watching it again from the beggining because I was feeling down and as always made me feel so much better.I don’t really know what to say about this show. It’s very dear to me and whatever I say it won’t be enough.
The story about a single mother and her bookworm daughter is fill with good emotions and lots of laughter. From the geeky daughter that’s so sweet and kind to the mom with her ironical comments to everything, we see different types of relationships between different types of people.
Give it a try and I promise you won’t regret it.
- 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 – Amazon [15 seasons]
15 years ago I started watching this show and in the first 5 minutes became my all time favorite. There’s simply no other like it for me.
Ghosts, vampires, sirens, soul eaters, these are just a small part of the monsters the 2 brothers go after. In every season there’s a main storyline. In every episode there’s excitement.
“You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business.”
Last November the final episode aired and I can’t get over it. Supernatural fangirl forever!
Have you seen any of these? Do you have favorite series to rewatch over and over again?
Don’t be shy to drop a comment.
