I wasn’t planning of doing another review of a geek box after the fail from the last one but it turned out I’ve ordered SuperLoot mystery box couple of months ago (I totally forgot about it) and I just got in the mail.
The subscription is £24,99 but you can get the first box for only £19,99. It should contain 5-7 hand-picked geeky gadgets, collectibles & cool stuff and a limited edition T-Shirt in every box. You can check it out here.
Maybe because I was having very low expectations or, maybe because the brand is genuinely better than the other but I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it.
This time, at least the box was presentable and branded with the SuperLoot logo. My first impression after opening the box – it was nicely filled to the top with different items. So far, if I have to compare both geek boxes, the second one was winning.
1. “Los Pollos Hermanos” cup with a straw
Firstly, I noticed a black box. Once I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised again. Inside was this cool cub for all the Breaking Bad fans. That made me rewatch the whole series again. This show is genius. (It’s still on Netflix if you wanna go have a look.) The cup is BPA free, so it’s non-toxic and it looks like good quality – for longer use. This is definitely a thumbs up for me. Prize: £6.
2. Funko Uncharted Pocket POP // NathanDrake Keychain
This little guy is another YES for me. The character is a treasure hunter in the game series “Uncharted” and if you like action-adventure games like Lara Croft, you should definitely try this one. The keychain is from Funko so you already know this product is going to be a good quality. Prize: £7,99.
3. Ultron Marvel Avengers figurine
Another figurine added to the collection. Pretty cool one. It’s Ultron from Avengers – or like the most people know him as the “bad guy” from “Age of Ultron” movie. I couldn’t find the same figurine online to compare prices but I found similar one for £14,99.
4. Back To The Future – Outa Time – Unisex T-Shirt
The T-Shirt in this box is from “Back to the Future” and it was a big relief when I saw it because it’s a pretty cool print and I’m really happy with it. (Sometimes it’s a bit risky with this mystery boxes because there’s a chance you won’t like what they send you and you can’t even return it.) Prize: £11,49.
5. Sweets – Rocky Road + Nerds
I’ve got some sweets as well. I think that’s how they won my heart. I’ve never tried those but after tasting them I fell in love with the Rocky Road. The Nerds – tiny crunchy, fruity candies – wasn’t my cup of tea because it has a sour kick to it. The Rocky Road is amazing – Handmade Milk Chocolate coated marshmallow with Cashew – recommend it to everyone with a sweet-tooth. I think both candies are American but you can buy them online in most countries.
Rocky Road prize: £1,60.
Nerds prize: £2,49.
6. Shutter – comic book – issue 19
I haven’t read anything from this series but it looks cool. From what I could find on the web, these series is about a girl, Kate Kristopher, an explorer from another planet, and her adventurous life and her family secrets. It sounds interesting and the drawings are amazing. From the writer of Hulk and GLORY – Joe Keatinge and the debut of Leila Del Duca. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an online store for it but there’re a lot of Ebay sellers.
The original prize: $3,99.
Overall, I’m happy with this box. I’d recommend it for geeks, nerds and fanboys and girls. What do you think about this month’s box?
